I know, I know … you feel incredibly pressured by too much structure and one of the reasons you became self-employed is so you could enjoy your morning coffee and journal a bit. (Same…!)

When too much structure has broken you once, it’s hard to trust it ever again. When too much planning feels like you have to shut down your intuition, you won’t fill your calendar not even with a footnote. (Or not get a calendar at all, lol.)

But when too much “freedom” ends up in you being sad and disappointed that you didn’t make the progress you hoped for and know you are capable of, well, then it’s time to change something.

Let me just say this: freedom needs structure.

I think of the river and the riverbed. If the riverbed didn’t exist, the waves of the river couldn’t happily make their way to the ocean. The water would be “all over the place”. The same is true for a water bottle. How do you image taking water with you if you didn’t have a water bottle? Yeah, exactly, it would be the same. The water would be all over the place, evaporate and you’d have a difficult time.

Now, replace water with ideas. Let me do it for you, here we go:

That’s what happens when you throw your calendar out the window. It’ll eventually bring more challenges than peaceful moments. Some sort of structure isn’t holding you back or locking you in: it helps you to get to where you want to go.

But … let’s do it your own way. Leaving enough space to be you — no, you really don’t have to turn into a robot. Leaving enough space to listen to ideas and intuition and make the process of building a business feel like … co-creating it.

The internet is full of the perfect morning routine. And nighttime routine. And WIEIAD routine and GRM routine and all those really cute formats — but here is the thing: just because it works for someone else doesn’t mean that it will do the magic for you.

And we’re somehow taught that we have to follow what someone else tells us to do. It’s like at school when a teacher tells you to learn this and that by heart or get your homework done, when and how to prepare for exams ... We are literally rewarded for following a rulebook, curriculum and blueprint — but life doesn’t work like that.

Nor does business! Definitely not! That’s what I find so funny about building a business. You start with a plan, the million spreadsheets, set up the “perfect” strategy, follow what others say is working best … only to find out it doesn’t work for you.

You remain stuck. The sales don’t flow in. The business doesn’t grow. Why?? When it worked for someone else? Well, because your business doesn’t ask you to follow someone else’s blueprint. Your business asks you to do things your own way. Because there is nothing more magnetic than you knowing who you are, knowing what you want, and going for it. Bringing your own magic into your products, creating spaces and experiences for clients that see the world in a similar way.

And that’s why routines matter. Because they decide over whether you are living the life of someone else. Or whether you are actually living your life, your own way.

Your routines and ways to create a day (yes, exactly that, you create a day!) have such a big impact on your results.

Let’s look at it through that lens. If you live outside of your own rhythm, you work against your own inner alignment. How do you want to build something that is in alignment, when you yourself are out of your own alignment?

It took me so long to find my perfect morning routine. Now I think: Well, it took me so long because I kept listening to what other people said was useful, necessary or even required in order to be successful.

And I mean, let’s be honest. It is quite daunting to put your own things first, or go against the rulebook, or do something when you have no proof, when you are broke, need a solution as soon as possible and “should” — logically — cling on to whatever opportunity you get.

Some of us don’t get to build a business under the perfect circumstances. But we get to develop an unmatched trust muscle and strength that comes from bringing certainty to something that seems absolutely nuts from the outside.

And I don’t know where I got the courage to act like I meant it even without a safety net, but I trusted so much that something good had to come out of it.

So I put the emails last. Didn’t read them until I had done my journaling, writing, content and working on my courses. And yes, I doubted so many times. All the time. But there comes a moment when you just have to trust an idea. And yourself.

Inside me, I always knew what I needed. A coffee, moving my body, and time to write with no interruptions. The second that I started prioritizing my work before doing anyone else’s work, sending out emails and responding — that’s when it all shifted. First, inside of me. It sent a different signal to myself.

I took myself seriously. I took my dream seriously. I rewrote my story by showing myself that I was important enough to get some time to work on what mattered to me. That my progress mattered. And even my happiness! Oh, that was a big one. Isn’t it funny? We have to learn (again) how to prioritize being happy.

Well, and very practically, something shifted, too: when I took more focused time for what I wanted to build, I had the headspace and energy to build it. And I did.

So, what if you took a chance on what feels truly right and aligned to you? Try it out, even if it is scary and feels uncomfortable because it is unfamiliar?

It’s like finally dropping the pressure of hooks and CTAs and starting to speak from your heart. Marketing bros will say that’s playing with luck, but those who have built an audience on connection instead of just going viral, will absolutely be the proof that selling authentically works.

So … how do we get there? How do you find a rhythm that fits you? How do you find your routine that brings you to your own definition of success?

And no, this is really not about how good it looks on Instagram. This is about how much it connects you to your truest self. Let’s explore it.

I had a call yesterday with a previous client. I had set up their website and blog and it took months to hear back or see at least one significant step forward. I mean, I am fine with that, none of my business. I handed in the website they wanted, delivered, and they can do with that whatever they want.

But here is something important: time is a factor.
How people do things says a lot about their willingness to work on themselves, work on their business, invest on themselves, and invest in their business.

This is more a matter-of-fact than judgment. Some invest in themselves, others don’t. Now, you get to choose if you want to talk to people that you first need to convince that investing in themselves moves them forward. Or, you talk to people who know they want to invest themselves and the conversation is entirely different.

It is the small things that give you the full picture of a person. They didn’t call at eleven sharp. They called ten minutes later. They don’t respect your time. They don’t see it as something serious enough. They see you as the little freelancer who should grateful for some breadcrumbs.

Practice saying things like:

• I have fifteen minutes scheduled for you, if you are late, then that’s time cut from our conversation. So, let’s get to the point now.

• I am unsure if you expected me to work for free, but this is time and experience that I invest in you and I cannot do that for free.

• The vision that you have is definitely possible, I can help you on each step of the path, and this is the price for my commitment, time, skillset and knowledge.

There was something else that I could not ignore. I had an amazing call before I had a call with them. The previous called left me inspired, motivated, encouraged, with so many ideas. I love to talk to people who leave you with inspiration.

And that call — left me with a feeling that this is going to be difficult. It’s honest to say that and you are allowed to say that. It doesn’t mean that they are bad people, or that ou don’t like them. You can appreciate them and still say: I cannot work with you.

To me, it was very evident that it just wasn’t my vibe. It felt heavy and slow. And I learned to be cautious when something feels that way. Because heavy and slow is usually a sign of someone not investing in themselves. It is the endless loop of “maybe, maybe not". You know exactly what kind of upper limit price you can tell them, because they are simply unwilling to look beyond their own horizon. Again, not bad, but something you have to be aware of.

I can tell you another sign of a client that you should be cautious to collaborate with. This:

Uncertainty at its best. The panicking after you said a price. So many deleted messages. A voice note saying “forget what I just said”.

Sorry guys, not my vibe.

So, there I was. Looking at the phone and just wondering if they really wanted the hundred things they had asked for, for free.

For the first time, I didn’t think what I used to think so many times before: “Oh, it would be nice to have that client or to keep the peace.” I thought something entirely different. “Is this a joke?!” And you know that? That moment deserves to be celebrated.

Every time you think: “Earlier on, I would have done this, but now, I am doing that.”
THIS is transformation and growth. THIS is how you set a new standard. THIS is how things are moved.

In those moments that feel like someone is joking with you, I see that as a sign making it very obvious to you where you are NOT going. Making it obvious to you where you are no longer investing any energy. It’s making something very clear. It is so clear you cannot talk yourself into anything else.

The trick is to find your worth-wound, how I call it. And with that, you will make sure that nothing that wants your work for free can even find you.

I honestly believe the bio is the biggest thing. Not for others, but for you. Yes, it helps with SEO. Now that AI is running over accounts instead of recruiters and agencies looking for affiliates, it may be a good idea to be mindful about what you put in your bio. Get the homework done, know how it works, all of it.

Yet … and here is the big YET … there is something deeper to it.

It’s a statement.
It’s a vibe, it’s a mood, it’s a reflection on how you feel.
Business Bros telling you to optimize everything may not get this,
but the female business version of a bio is not just a bio.

It’s an invitation into our world.

A bio can either be a shield or it can be an invitation.
And that’s where, again, we’re so deeply into where mindset blends with business.
Where strategy is built on self-awareness.
Where personal growth is tied to personal branding.

That’s where it gets so interesting.

I recently posted about what my bio meant to me and how the process of finding the right words was a reflection of finally allowing myself to be human, not perfect. Of focusing on the process and documenting that, instead of showing only results.

So, let’s not make it more complicated.

I also want to say that this is really not a blueprint. This is not “you have to do it that way because only that way will work.” Not at all. This is more a guide, some tips, shared experience and best practices. I spent years on finding the right bio, changing it again and again, especially as I grew and as the business grew. That’s normal. You will change your bio. You will adapt it.

There may even come a point in your business when you feel like you’ve outgrown it. That’s sometimes not a complete pivot, just an invitation to be more clear on the core of your work. Your motivation. What you really want to share. And that, by the way, is wonderful material for your bio.

1 What do you like to talk about?

The first question I’d ask. What do you like to talk about? Your favorite topics may seem obvious to you and you’re very likely hanging out with people who share similar passions, interests and topics you talk about. Otherwise you’d have nothing to talk about, right? Or, you wouldn’t really hang out with them.

Social Media is a space where everyone with multiple interests, in different mindset, different worlds, share an algorithm. (Doesn’t actually sound really attractive, does it?) The good news is: You can find your people, if you allow them to see you.

So, let them see you. Not the version of you that’s perfect and professional, but the version of you that loves to talk about the things you love to talk about. That version. That’s the one that will change everything.

2 Do we use AI?

I am really not against AI for the bio. I would even encourage it — not as the final result, but because AI can mirror back what you sometimes don’t see. AI can be the business coach saying: Hey, do you remember who you are?

Let’s be honest, we don’t always believe in ourselves. Building a business is filled with doubts. Sometimes we cannot even see what we have done, or who we could help, because we are so deep into questioning everything.

So, yes, take AI. Use it for reflecting back to you what isn’t always visible to yourself. Don’t let it be the final result. Don’t let it take your creativity away. Say it in your own words and in your own vocabulary. But don’t be afraid to just ask AI for a few suggestions.

I am overhearing the conversation at the table next to where I am sitting, in a coffee shop in Midtown Manhattan. Profit margins, labor costs, case study.

And suddenly I know why, as a kid, I never thought I could or wanted to lead a business. It sounded like a cold-hearted approach to taking people’s money out of their pockets, forcing them to buy something they don’t even need, and treating business purely as the increase of numbers. Anything else didn’t matter.

That kind of business sounded like a constant competition that I would get tired of. It sounded like heaviness and running fast and ruining yourself and having no time and … burning out.

Well, I did. In my early 20s, thinking that business could only mean throwing yourself into the competition you’ll never win, I got so burnt out I it brought me to the surgery room in the hospital.

That was the first time I realized that stress is directly linked to physical symptoms and it was no good idea to work against yourself, ignore the whispers of your body, and pretend that you are a robot. You are not.

You are a human being with an inner emotional landscape, a strong intuition, and a calling inside you that always directs you to the right places. Trust your joy. Trust your curiosity. Trust what you feel drawn to. Let go of the need to have a specific outcome, a guarantee, even something measurable. Let space and time and possibilities come back into (your) business.

You are a receiver of inspiration, a channel for ideas, a being of energy that you share.

Just think of how people react to you when you’re grumpy, or when you are actually in a really good mood and open for conversations, even with strangers. You change each room with your presence, and the awareness around your own energy can create such calm, peace and beauty in your life. Yes, it can connect you with your clients, too.

There is a feminine way of doing business that has nothing to do with “the soft girl era”, nor does it feed into the narrative of “the boss bit*”. It is simply a different management of energy, focus, attention and principles.

Instead of seeing yourself as a robot, pressured to self-improve, you trust your own wisdom and co-create with it. Instead of forcing people to buy something that not even you are convinced of, you invite in and welcome people who can see and choose to interact with something you poured your experience, wisdom, passion and talents into.

Let’s explore this way of creating a business, and receiving money in a way that is distinct to what we are used to.

Yesterday, I had a call. I admit, I don’t really like calls in the middle of the day — I feel like they break a structure. I have always been so careful with how I structure my day, what I give my focus to, and how a day asks for different tasks at different times. The morning is not the same as the afternoon. Lunch time is different from closing the day.

Pay attention to when you work best — when your focus is clearest and you feel most inspired. Pay attention to what you need in order to walk into the flow state and creative time. I think of it, literally, like stepping into The Atelier, where I remember who I truly am, what I truly want, and what truly matters now. The noise, pressure, comparison — it all stays outside.

I know this is the answer we are all looking for when it comes to business.

Can I have a business that doesn’t lead to burnout? Can I have a business that is … beautiful? Can I have a business that is helping me to be more me? One that doesn’t ask me to be something or someone, but one that gives me the space, the time, the freedom, and the money to be me?

The strict content planner for the upcoming six months may not make sense to some of us. We are constantly growing and changing, and our businesses live from the spontaneous ideas that move them forward. We don’t constantly “change our minds” — even if, from the outside, it may seem like that at times. We are adjusting. We are uncovering new truths and letting them exist. In our businesses, too.

That’s why leadership is flexibility and openness. That’s why consistency is not a finite answer, but a recurring question: What does it mean today, in this specific context? That’s why routine doesn’t look the same every day. It is made up of rituals that are anchors, structuring the day. That’s why the answer doesn’t always come immediately, but it comes intuitively.

So, can you lead a business intuitively?

The short answer is: yes. The longer answer is: intuition and creative flow don’t replace structure. Structure actually allows for intuition and creative flow.
