I used to make my own shows in the living room, dancing to the songs of Laundry Service, and sell tickets to my parents who were sitting in the front row — the sofa — eating popcorn that I made with their permission and then sold to them. (I loved doing business since forever lolol.) I would ask my dad to translate the Spanish and English songs to German and then I would study the sounds — because I didn’t speak English yet! — to sing the songs myself. Thanks to Shakira, I started writing my own songs, putting my pain into poetry and singing my heart out.

This is what that meant to me. This would become my first concert ever. Can you imagine, I had never been to one! I had just given concerts as a singer-songwriter myself, that’s the only reason why I knew what this would look like. On the stage. But I’ve never really been in the audience, never in a huge stadium and the first time I’d get to experience that would be in New York City. So the dream of seeing Shakira sing live would come true in the city I’d always dreamed of visiting. That’s the magic of manifesting.

Long story short, two weeks later and a plastic cup filled with Diet Pepsi and tons of ice (favorite!) in my hand, I walked up the stairs to our seats and could not believe this was actually happening. That’s the thing about dreams. It feels like the most magical moment ever, and the most mundane moment, too.

This was so much more than a concert. This was a wake up call. And if there is something I took away from it, then that we have to look at visibility as service, not as something selfish.

July really had it all and I am still not over it. This could have been a month to streeeeeeeetch endlessly and I’d have been more than fine with that. But, as with all things, “this, or better.” Right??

The month has been one of many “firsts”. But not really in the ticking-something-off-the-bucket-list way, more in the emotional way. The first time I fully felt safe. The first time I fully felt like I made it to my dreams and I could celebrate that. The first time I felt like everything happening, including the totally unexpected moments, really happened for my growth. That’s a beautiful think to realize and it also makes you a lot more relaxed about everything. New challenge? Great, let me see what I can learn! Didn’t like how it turned out? Great, let me see what I can learn.

That’s the point about manifesting. It really teaches you, all the time, that whatever happens, you can always choose to keep creating. You are so much more powerful than you’d give yourself credit for!

So, I also turned on the paywalls now for 5$. I just don’t feel like I want to be writing for free anymore lol. So, no specific reason or huge explanation, just this. It feels so much more aligned that way, that’s all. Xx

I have this beautiful wishlist on Vinted and also, I cannot wait to list all my clothes there. And get a completely different closet. I have done that several times. Each time felt like slipping into a new skin, starting a new chapter, and becoming a bit more of who I dreamed of being.

But I have never sold EVERYTHING to start completely from scratch. (I really cannot wait.) And I have been adding items to the wishlist on Vinted not to buy them, but to find my own style. I don’t even know exactly how it started. I just know I was sitting in coffee shop that had this huge selection of all things sourdough, from bread to scones to donuts. And all I thought was: Gosh, I really don’t want to make sourdough.

I thought it was unfair. That all we get is to pick between the hustle that’s burnout, and the slow mornings with baking sourdough bread. I thought it was unfair that we didn’t get to choose ambition. Because I wanted ambition. But not the burnout kind of way. I wanted ambition — the aligned way.

And before I knew, I was deep into my rebrand.
It took me days.

Days of going down the rabbit hole. Getting to the core of what I do, what my own path is and has been about so far, what I wanted to do, who I wanted to work with, who I could serve. I signed myself up for a bootcamp called: Don’t see anyone over the weekend. And oh, it worked wonders. Sometimes all you need is a weekend with no interruptions and you get out of that window of time as a different person. That’s what it felt like.

In the end, it was the 3 am call by inspiration. When people say you shouldn’t have your phone next to you while I sleep, I agree. I don’t do that when I have my boyfriend sleeping next to me. When I am alone, I will for sure have my phone next to me. To feel safer. To reach out when something happens. To text when I feel sick or sad or lonely. Or simply to text a good morning.

This comes in quite handy when your ideas knock on your door at 3 am in the morning. I don’t decline the call. I don’t keep the door closed. I listen. I always have.

That’s something that business strategy in the classic sense never considers. No, it’s not just about the perfect plan and the spreadsheet. It’s about working with your ideas and valuing inspiration. (Funny enough, we find that in the book Think & Grow Rich but somehow, most prefer to shuffle their brain juice and creativity inside them to a blueprint of a standard AI answer. That’s just not how it works well long-term.)

I reached for my phone. I opened Instagram. (Sending all high-performance dudes into a coma here…) And I listened. I cannot describe it any other way, I really just listened and wrote down what made sense.

It took me an hour. An hour for a bio. In the middle of the night. But when I woke up, it all made perfect sense and I loved every bit of it. I looked at it and sqeaked in delight: “I could never have come up with that!” Lol, yes, that’s what inspiration at 3 am feels like. You know what I mean.

Anyways, I also believe that ideas find you when you are ready. It often feels like a scavenger hunt: a little bit of progress each day. You just have to remain open and the least distracted possible and that’s how you build. Don’t compare yourself. Stay in your world and let ideas find you that are relevant to your path.

That’s why — and how — I journal. I basically document to connect dots, discover the patterns and read the underlying themes. I love to track the sequence of ideas and realizations that come and see how one builds onto another. I could not have gotten idea/realization M if I hadn’t started with idea/realization A. Maybe that sounds a bit nerdy, and that’s definitely something I could talk about all day.

To heal, in oder to grow.

I long for becoming a different version of myself every day, more confident, inviting more into my life. I don’t do that rushing, I do that with gratitude. Gratitude over what is, present enough to appreciate it, and at the same time, longing for so much more because I love building. I love the idea of growth. I love the idea of having ideas that guide you and help you give something valuable to others whilst building your own dream life.

But you won’t get there if you’re not the version of you who can hold it. And you become the version of you that can hold it by removing everything that keeps you back, pulls you back, or wants a smaller version of you. So I journal, to make sure I am aware of what’s pulling me back, and get rid of it before it causes any damage to my dream.

My new bio would never have found me in that way, or even made sense to me, had I not done all the work before. Had these days over the weekend not existed … it wouldn’t have happened. That time of growth was a window that opened the moment I sat in the coffee shop and reflected on sourdough. And I would not have gotten to the conclusion of a bio that I am actually, genuinely happy with, had none of the before happened the way it did.

I was sitting in a coffee shop, scribbling a few thoughts down, when suddenly, an idea found me out of nowhere. That is, it was just a word, but it held a full, complete, idea behind it.

And I knew immediately what it meant.
”Oh, I think I just broke up with my business.”

You outgrow your first offer, but nobody warns you. It just happens.
It turns from the principal actor to just one more actor on a stage.

It’s not bad. It’s just growth. It’s something that happens when you build a business that you care about, a heart-business, something that found you because only you could bring the idea into the world.

It happens all the time, but behind the scenes. You feel it a bit, but not strong enough to make a change. It comes up more frequently, something feels blocked, but still, it’s not enough to actually quit. And then it arrives in one moment with such clarity that there is no way back.

It’s been a week back and it feels like endless summer. It’s the best that could happen, really. All of it. There is no “either or”. There is just “this, here”. All of it. And I love it to the fullest.

This winter had so much snow and I enjoyed every single bit of it. This had been one of the best winters I have ever experienced in my life. Even though, or maybe because, it was so complex and at times contradictory. It was so creative, too.

Now, I look at palm trees, jump into the pool, and share time with my horse. Nothing could be more different and contrasting. Central Park moments and walking down Park Avenue, now I see cows on my morning run.

That’s the magic of it all — this is the moment that I learned so much about manifesting. Manifesting, not from “I need this and I want this right now.”But manifesting as … letting life match your outer world with all that you have inside.

That’s the point, we really don’t always get what we want, but we do get what we need. Manifesting is allowing Life to co-create something with you that reflects your essence — or, as I would say, your Inner Colors.

A delivery is ready to be picked up. I looked at the notification and I knew immediately what it was. My Hunter Boots had arrived! I threw on any jacket, slipped into the shoes that were closest, just about remembered to take my keys, and ran out of the apartment to pick up the package downstairs.

Some moments feel like you’ve been waiting your whole life for them. Well, these boots took a solid thirteen years to be called mine. From the Scottish Highlands, where I looked at cows and sheep whilst thinking about the essay to hand in, or the next course to take, and what the next trimester would be like …

To the sound of the streets of New York City. The very streets I’d walk over with these brand-new boots that made it seem like walking in a dream.

Okay, but let’s start from the beginning. This is on how one choice changes your life.

If we were to be very precise — and let’s assume we are — these are technically not my first pair of Hunter Boots. I had some for three weeks in January. Yes, you read that right. I had found a beautiful pair on Vinted. It had taken me weeks to order them and finally allow myself to hit the purchase button. I loved them so much, I had walked everywhere with them, for hours. And just three weeks after they had arrived, they cracked on a walk through the German forests. For real. Both of them. The soles were cracking, and my sadness was heavier than any rainfall could possibly be.

I had taken them to the only shoemaker in the small village, an elderly man who, with one glance and many years of experience, could tell me that there was nothing to fix. My dad even took them to another shoemaker in a different city, but the expert opinion remained the same. Nothing to fix. To have waited thirteen years to then enjoy something for three weeks … just seemed a bit unfair.

And we all know what happened. I allowed myself to choose joy. And here is the thing: these little big stretches change your life. Not because one thing could change it, but because of the story and significance it holds for you. When you make a dream come true, you show yourself that you can do it. You change your narrative. You go from “Nothing as good as this could ever happen to me” to “This is mine! Of course it is!”. And that is what changes your life.

The weather co-operated. It was raining, and raining non-stop.

I couldn’t have wished for better weather. Rain! Heavy rain! Rain non-stop! It was wonderful! And guess what? I was just one of many. Everyone around me was wearing Hunter Boots, in all sorts of colors — and that made it feel so wonderfully welcoming.

Again, it is not only about a thing. But it is about how it makes you feel, what it means to you, and how it slips into every other piece of your story. Yes, precisely the one that you’re intending to rewrite.

I can’t describe this feeling, it was like walking on clouds.

I had made coffee at home, taken my favorite tumbler, thrown a warm scarf around me, and wrapped myself in a few layers before sliding gracefully into the new boots. Oh, and how it felt! Tears of joy, coming straight from the heart, were running down my cheeks. I am telling you. When a dream comes true, what you also realize is that the harsh times are over. The times when you had to fight — no, that’s done now. A new version slid into those new shoes, and a new version of you is going to slide out of them. You choose who you want to be. Every day. And whatever reminder you need, if it makes your heart happy and your eyes tear up with joy, it is so worth the investment.

By the way, Park Avenue definitely has the best puddles! Especially the ones when you cross from one side to another, which I did about ten times. Just walking and walking, with no specific direction. Just walking with a cup of warm coffee, an enormous smile on my face, and boots that allowed me to jump through puddles.

The yellow taxis are driving past in front of the big windows. There are comfortable seats in the style of an office-slash-coffee shop, and people are sitting here with notebooks, phones, and even paper journals to take some notes. Everyone is doing something; everyone has something to work on.

No city speaks more of living your dreams than New York City does. No matter where you walk, what you see, what you hear … everything somehow seems to reflect that someday, someone had an idea that they didn’t let go of. An idea they pursued so rigorously, it was inevitable it would become something other people could, at some point, also see.

That’s what it means to live your dream: you pursue an idea of something you envision, and you make it happen.

New York seems to whisper all the time: Go make it happen.

You can feel it. You can see it in people’s behavior, too. Nobody waits to open the door for you; everyone is too busy living their own life. People are friendly, strangers talk to you, and yet small talk is brief. I like that.

Everyone who comes here will have their own story of how this city shaped them. What it gave to them. What it helped them see. What it helped them let go of. What it reminded them of.

But one thing is sure — nobody leaves New York the same way they arrived. Because this is one of the places that shapes you, touches you, and inspires you. It is a place that is in constant motion, but it also moves so much inside you.

It teaches me, each day, several times, that we cannot stand in our own way. Here are some of the moments that brought back the determination of pursuing and living a dream of the heart.
