Entrepreneur Mindset: Make it impossible NOT to earn money
That's the only thing you have to take care of: your mindset of possibilities
So, I am just coming out of the longest rut. Well, I am not FULLY out yet, but I think it’s quite normal and I am not ashamed to say: no matter what stage you are in business, there is always potential for growth. And growth means that old things leave to make space for new things.
Yep, that’s … well, that’s like being put into a washing machine by Life.
You get a sticker with a question, now go into the washing machine and find out the answer.
The fun part is that you actually do get out with an answer.
Or, you find the answer and then yo get out of the washing machine.
The question that’s written on your sticker changes depending on the milestones you have reached and the goals you are working towards. But there’ll always be a sticker with a question. And there is always an inner voice gently nudging you to think bigger, asking yourself: Okay, but what else is possible?
And, because we touched on this topic of growth and not settling. I say this so often and don’t get tired of it: You are not choosing growth out of greed, but out of curiosity. Out of the longing to stretch your comfort zone and see what else you can create. That, too, is entrepreneurship.
So, you’ll always have a sticker with a question. If you don’t have one right now, you won’t have to wait for too long, it’ll find you. A new question. A new challenge. Just big enough to help you grow and bring you to your next level. It feels overwhelming, yes, but that’s because it’s new. And because you are turning into the person who can hold what you are wishing for and working on.
The sequence of the question-stickers go something like this:
will I ever quit the job to start my own thing?
will I ever get organized enough to build an offer?
will someone ever buy my offer?
will ever more people buy my offer?
how can I work less and earn more?
how can I simplify everything?
how can I get someone on my team to assist?
…
Depending on where you’re at, some of these questions may sound very familiar to you. But there is something all of these have in common. Yes, no matter what you’re currently trying to build. No matter the precise question for that precise stage. There is something that will always remain the same about growing in business.
You want money. That’s the idea of entrepreneurship. You grow, your business grows, you reach more people, more opportunities. The kind of people you reach can change, and the kind of tasks can change, too.
That being said. Yes, sometimes you choose to have less money temporarily. You say no to some clients but you get something in return: more time. And you use that time to invest into something and eventually, get out on the other side with more money.
We innovate, we create, we build. And we don’t do that out of charity. We do that because we have a business. It’s wonderful to let more money into your life.
I see money as a tool and a best friend. I don’t think it’s bad to say: “What motivate me is to make more money.” Because what’s at the heart of that is often the wish for a bigger life. (Btw, congratulations, few people allow themselves to want a bigger life!) The wish for making a dream come true. The wish for taking more women with you. The wish to support projects you find absolutely amazing.
The wish to change the world — by making more money.
That’s what we got so wrong, so often.
We heard that “money is at the root of all evil”, but that didn’t include all the heart-led, wonderfully creative, amazing women who build their businesses.
We live in a time that makes it so easy to connect with others. Remember that not too long ago, you’d have to pay to talk about your offers. Now you just post. Back then, you had to travel to places where you could meet potential clients. Now, you just “log in”. You can literally write something you love and someone can come across it anytime and reach out to work with you. Let’s not forget that.
I’ll add to that: the current climate can feel like we shouldn’t even start. Just open the news and baaaam, you’ll feel like nothing is possible.
But, there’s an option. Think of this. You ca curate your feed and deliberately expose yourself to narratives that speak of possibilities.
This platform here is a great example of women writing, creating, and generating an income by helping others. How amazing?! Use it. Surround yourself with mindsets that make you grow.
I’d been stuck in this rut for so long because, honestly, …
