We’ve all heard it before: be grateful and you will manifest faster. Yet what is it about gratitude that makes it such a powerful tool to bring more dreams and goals into existence? The answer is quite straightforward.
Gratitude brings you back to the present moment.
Instead of focusing on scenarios in the future, you come back to where you can create anything: this very moment. Gratitude removes the pressure to think ahead all the time and thus brings calm and clarity back to the center of it all. This is what is; this is what I have created.
When you create from a feeling of gratitude, you don’t ask for something because you need it. You ask for something because you choose it. You don’t fall into the perception of lack; you lean into the certainty that everything is there already. At the same time, you can ask for more.
Let more into your life, simply out of curiosity.
Here is where most people limit themselves: wanting more. Wanting more doesn’t equal greed or dissatisfaction. Wanting more simply means you are not curbing your own growth. I like to take nature as an example. Everything is growing constantly. Everything is moving and changing. A tree bears fruit without apologizing. The sky is bright orange, and the surface of the water is covered in sparkles without apologizing.
Growing is natural. You don’t have to want more only when you’re going through a hard time. You can want more… simply because. Because you are curious to explore what else is possible. Because you know that there is always space for more love, joy, and wisdom.
The art is to approach wanting more from an intentional desire that doesn’t come from neediness, but from openness.
What are you genuinely satisfied with in this chapter of your life?
What would you, nevertheless, love to invite into your life?
Gratitude is a deep breath, knowing you’re at the right place at the right time.
When you listen to your own inner wisdom, to your gut feeling, to your intuition, your heart—or however you refer to this strong and clear knowing that tells you that you just have to do something—you feel when you are in the right place. And you feel when you are in the wrong place.
Both can come with their own challenges. Being in the right place can also mean facing uncomfortable questions, going through a transition, or experiencing what it feels like to entirely outgrow an older version of yourself. That’s also a right place.
The wrong place comes with a sense of having lost connection to yourself. The wrong place asks you to be something you are not. The wrong place makes you doubt, disconnects you from your innate sense of worth, and leaves you with clouds of constant worry. When you have an ongoing feeling of “I need to get out of here…” you probably should.
The right place has a strong element of gratitude. And again—the right place can also be a chapter full of setbacks and challenges. But you’ll never lose that strong sense that you are on the right path, even though it’s difficult. When you can be grateful for the whole spectrum of emotions and experiences, that’s when you win. That’s when you no longer stand in your own way but let Life do its thing, too. You let Life teach you what you couldn’t know, show you what you had ignored, and guide you through your everyday—and thus your life.
Gratitude is the best friend of surrender.
Intuition always speaks clearly, but we make it complicated when we overthink, people-please, and put politeness over purpose. We want to maintain control and manage everything—forgetting that some things cannot be planned by you. Some things are entirely out of your control, and that is wonderful. Leave some space in your schedule for reflective journaling moments and for all the cool coincidences Life is sending your way.
What is something you are grateful for and, thinking back, realize you hadn’t even planned?
What is something you are manifesting and know will be hard to plan for or schedule?
How can you let go of control?
How can you trust a little more?
Gratitude is a list—and it’s a feeling.
Yes, you can write down what you are grateful for—I would encourage you to do precisely that! But at the end of the day, we need to really understand it to make changes. We need to feel grateful. We need to let gratitude flow through the whole body. We need to know that whatever and whoever we come across, we’ll leave some part of our own gratitude with them.
Do you feel like you deserve what you have? Why, or why not?
Write about your current manifestations, dreams, or desires and add why you are deserving of them. Be specific. Writing about these feelings gives you clarity and helps you get into “thinking with your heart.”
Gratitude is a superpower—and one that you have immediate access to. Go from doubts to feeling grateful. Go from noise to feeling grateful. Go from confusion to feeling grateful. Go from disappointment to feeling grateful. Go from worrying about the future … to feeling grateful.
